Yak Chat
Displaying the Yak 52
- It’s big
- It’s hairy
- It can have a temper
- It can bite
- It’s got large horns
- You don’t want to get in it’s way
- It’s built like a tank
An illustrated, informative, yet
light-hearted and humorous talk on displaying the Yak 52 at air shows.
Suitable for groups of people of all ages and gender.
Presented by a current display pilot,
Nigel draws the audience in, and through the use of pictures, sound and
large screen video, allows you to experience at first hand the thrills
of flying the yak.
“You will be amazed, and ponder in awe
at just what’s involved in display flying!”
What it's about
You’ve seen TV programmes on the
subject. But they just scratch the surface. You may have watched
aircraft perform aerobatics at first hand. But what’s really involved?
Is it just a matter of the pilot strapping in, having fun and showing
off? Well, at the end of this informative chat, you’ll know that these
assumptions are far from correct. You’ll be amazed at what’s involved;
technically, legally, mentally and physically.
Who
it's for
This is your chance to delve into
an unknown area; usually only available to “the few”. Consequently, this
informal talk is for any group of people; men, women, adults and
children. Ideally suitable as a “special event” item for that “talk with
a difference”, Nigel is one of only 200 or so active display pilots in
the UK. The chat will be tailored to your audience—describing the Yak
and display activity in terms you’ll understand. From youth, men's, or
women's organisations, church outreach events (inviting non church-goers
to an informal evening followed by this talk), through to flying club
social events for the hardened pilot(!) this talk is customised for you.
How it's presented
Using up to date techniques, PC
based media, pictures, sound and large screen video, this presentation
is much more than just a “talk”. With an informal style, Nigel uses real
life stories; some humorous, (and some that will make your hair stand on
end!) to keep you entertained as well as informed. All the necessary
equipment is brought to you by the presenter, so organisers don’t need
to worry. Numerous other items are also brought for the audience to
inspect, touch and feel, and photos are available for ordering (based on
previous experience of people’s requests to purchase memento's).
